
Hon. Oluwole Oke, Member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, has commiserated with the Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) over the passing of its former state chairman and the Owa of Igbajo, Oba Gboyega Phillip Famodun, praying to God to grant the family, the Igbajo community, and the party strength to bear the loss.
In a statement on Sunday, Hon. Oke recalled the late monarch’s unwavering commitment to both traditional leadership and political development in Osun State, describing him as a distinguished leader whose contributions left an indelible mark.
The lawmaker also extended his condolences to the people of Igbajo, the Famodun family, and the Osun APC, while urging prayers for the peaceful repose of the late monarch’s soul.
“On behalf of the people of Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, I condole with the family of our late father, Oba Gboyega Famodun. His death is a monumental loss to Igbajo, Osun State, and Nigeria at large. He was a courageous leader, a bridge-builder, and a man devoted to the welfare of his people. We mourn his passing and pray his soul rest in perfect peace,” Hon. Oke was quoted as saying.
