As tensions keep rising in the Nation over the waves of insecurity, a chieftain of the Labour Party in Osun state, Engr Sunday Olowu, has pushed for the engagement of mercenaries to effectively prosecute the war against terrorism and banditry in the country.
The Ipetu-Ijesa born politician, observed that Nigeria’s security architecture as presently constituted has been politicised and compromised, hence the inability of the security agencies, to effectively and efficiently protect lives and property of the masses.
He said , the nation is in dire need of foreign supports, to enable her to crush the ISIS, ISWAP, Boko Haram, Bandits and others.
According to him, the recent disturbing incidents of violence attacks in Kwara , Kebbi and others, were pointers to the fact that the leadership of the nation lacks the political will to fight the enemies of the nation.
While expressing sadness over the senseless killings of innocent Nigerians, Engr Olowu, urged the federal government, to be serious about winning the war on terror, adding that there are however some internal saboteurs.
He lauded the efforts of the Army in the fight, describing those who have fallen as heros, explaining that the time is now to approach foreign countries for urgent supports.
Engr Olowu, popularly known as Pele , also charged Royal Fathers, Religious leaders, traditionalists, elders both men and women, as well as youths in the South West of the country, to come together, and fashion out ways , to protect their various communities against banditry, and other criminal elements.
