Honourable Oluwole Oke Tasks New Service Chiefs on Consolidating Security Gains, Deepening Collaboration

‎‎The House of Representatives Member from Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State, Honourable Oluwole Oke, has charged the newly appointed Service Chiefs to consolidate on the gains recorded in the nation’s security architecture by demonstrating renewed vigour, transparency, and inter-agency collaboration in tackling emerging threats across the country.‎‎

While congratulating the new Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Major-General W. Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral I. Abbas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke; and Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General E.A.P. Undiendeye, Honourable Oke in a statement made available to journalists said their appointments reflect the President Bola Tinubu’s confidence in their proven records of discipline, diligence, and patriotic commitment to national unity.

New Service Chiefs

‎‎He described their emergence as both a mark of trust and a renewed call to patriotic duty, coming at a critical moment when Nigeria continues to consolidate the gains achieved against terrorism, insurgency, and banditry in different parts of the country.‎‎

According to him, “The new Service Chiefs are inheritors of a challenging but noble assignment. Their wealth of experience, years of professional service, and distinguished performance in previous commands should now be deployed to build on the successes already achieved in safeguarding lives and property. The nation expects renewed vigour, collaboration, and transparency in tackling emerging threats to our internal and external security.”‎‎

The lawmaker also urged the new security helmsmen to adopt a people-centred approach that prioritises intelligence gathering, inter-agency synergy, and community trust as key pillars for lasting peace across Nigeria.‎‎

Honourable Oke further emphasised the need to sustain morale among officers and men of the Armed Forces, stressing that improved welfare conditions and adequate motivation remain vital to operational effectiveness.‎‎

He lauded the outgoing Service Chiefs for their patriotic service, noting that national defence is a continuous mission that requires the commitment of every officer to the collective goal of peace and stability.‎‎

The Veteran legislator reaffirmed the National Assembly’s readiness to provide necessary legislative support for policies and reforms that promote professionalism, accountability, and improved welfare within the military establishment.‎‎

“The Nigerian people desire and deserve a country where farmers can return to their fields, children can learn in peace, and citizens can move freely without fear,” Honourable Oke stated.

“The new Service Chiefs must therefore bring all the experience they have gathered over the years to bear on consolidating the progress recorded so far in combating terror activities and other security challenges across our nation.”‎‎

He prayed that God grants the new appointees divine wisdom, strength, and protection as they take on their national assignments, while also calling on Nigerians to continue supporting the Armed Forces through patriotism, vigilance, and collective faith in the nation’s unity.‎‎

“On behalf of the good people of Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, I heartily congratulate our new Service Chiefs. May your tenure bring greater peace, stability, and renewed hope to every corner of Nigeria,” he concluded.‎‎‎‎
