Undoubtedly, the enthronement of the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, His Imperial Majesty, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III was seen as a new phase in Ijesaland. Both young and old who are aware of the intimidating profile of the new monarch are full of expectations towards the development of Ijesaland.‎‎

Of course, Ijesaland is richly blessed with both human and natural resources, thereby, making agriculture as one of our main staple of economy if properly ventured into.‎‎

Earlier this year during the traditional seclusion of His Imperial Majesty, it was a great news when he announced his intention to train some Ijesa Youths in modernized agriculture, this was widely applauded by people even beyond the shores of Ijesaland.‎‎

On 13th of April this year, a call for application for the Agricultural Empowerment Program was made on social media, interested Youths who are Graduates from the six local governments of Ijesaland applied and was shortlisted, a process which was considered as highly transparent and merit-based.‎‎

On 7th of May, the 50 successful Applicants left for Nasarawa State, all expense-trip sponsored by Owa Ajimoko III. They were at CSS farms, Gora, Nasarawa State for 2 weeks where they were trained on how to make Ijesaland a food basket of Nigeria. They all returned successfully back home on 22nd of May, after being thoroughly trained in mechanized farming, a comprehensive report was made available on social media on 4th of June, 2025.‎‎

Since the return of these people from Nasarawa State, there’s no news about their activities till now, majority of them who left their initial jobs have been jobless for more than 3 months now.‎‎

I humbly use this medium to appeal to His Imperial Majesty, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland to rise to these young Ijesas who have remained jobless rather than to be gainfully employed so that his aims of sponsoring them to Nasarawa State won’t be unfulfilled. When there’s no means of livelihood, the probability of social vices in the society will be on high side.‎‎
