Rep. Oluwole Oke Hails President Tinubu for Conferring CFR National Honour on Late Chief Bola Ige

The Member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State in the National Assembly, Honourable Oluwole Oke, has expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for posthumously conferring the national honour of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) on the former Governor of Old Oyo State and Attorney-General of the Federation late Chief Bola Ige, SAN.

In a statement personally signed by him, The Chairman, House Committee on Foreign Affairs described the recognition as a remarkable and symbolic tribute to a man whose legacy continues to shape Nigeria’s democratic journey.

He noted that the gesture goes beyond a mere national award, calling it a bold acknowledgment of Chief Bola Ige’s immense contributions to democracy, national unity, and development.

“As a proud son of Osun State, I consider this honour long overdue. It is a powerful reminder that the values of courage, vision, and integrity embodied by Chief Bola Ige never fade,” Oke stated.

He commended President Tinubu for honouring a true legend, adding that the voice of the late former Attorney General still resonates within the conscience of the nation.
