Founder of a Prominent Charity Organization, Bojas Foundation International and princess of Itapa-Ijesa, Osun State, Princess Christiana Kujembola, has called on the Osun State Commissioner of Police to investigate the alleged unlawful arrest and prolonged detention of some traditional chiefs from the community.
The princess raised the alarm following reports that some chiefs from Itapa-Ijesa in Atakumosa East Local Government Area were arrested and detained by operatives of the Amotekun Corps for nearly six days without being handed over to the police for proper investigation.
Describing the situation as a violation of their constitutional rights, Princess Kujembola who appealed to the Osun State Police Command to urgently intervene and investigate the circumstances surrounding the detention.
“The chiefs have now been held for close to a week without being charged to court or properly investigated by the police. This is not only unlawful but deeply troubling,” she said.
She further revealed that her father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Alexander Babashola Kujembola, the Alapa of Itapa-Ijesa, who is currently abroad on medical grounds, has been emotionally disturbed by the news of the arrests and the prolonged detention of his chiefs.
Princess Kujembola accused the Amotekun Corps of abuse of power and called on relevant authorities not to ignore what she termed “clear signs of administrative excesses.”
She urged the state government, under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, as well as the Commissioner of Police, to thoroughly investigate the incident without political bias.
“This matter must be handled with fairness and transparency. The rule of law must prevail, and no agency should operate outside its legal boundaries,” she added.
She also emphasized that any allegations of unlawful detention must be addressed promptly, and that those in custody should be treated in line with due legal process.

Well spoken. I hope the necessary step will be taken and fair justice administered.
