
The Nigeria Police Force has recorded major successes in its ongoing crackdown on crime, arresting a female arms smuggler and several drug suppliers linked to bandits and insurgents in different parts of the country.
According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Tuesday, operatives from the Force Intelligence Department-Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS) intercepted one Hauwa Sani, a 30-year-old woman from Doro village, on December 23, 2024, at about 5:50 PM.
According to him, She was stopped along the Keffi/Abuja Expressway while carrying 124 rounds of live ammunition hidden inside a 5-litre container of palm oil.
Adejobi added that Sani confessed that a man identified as Nasiru from Daura had instructed her to deliver the ammunition to Katsina State.
He said Further investigations reportedly led to more arrests and recoveries, as the police intensified their efforts to track and dismantle criminal supply networks.


In a separate operation on February 1, 2025, FID-STS operatives, acting on intelligence, arrested three men Alhaji Usman Yahaya, 50; Joseph Matthew, 27; and Solomon Bala, 25 all from Postiskum, Yobe State.
They were caught transporting 30 cartons of codeine syrup and other hard drugs, allegedly meant for delivery to bandits, Boko Haram insurgents, and kidnappers operating in Yobe State and nearby regions.
Another breakthrough followed on February 3, 2025, when the police arrested three more suspects Yusuf Dantani, 24; Usman Labaran, 32; and Musa Mohammed, 23 with 10 AK-47 rifles in their possession.
During interrogation, the suspects admitted to dealing in arms, disclosing they received N3,980,000 for their last batch of weapons.

The Police Force commended its tactical teams for their efforts and urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
ACP Adejobi reassured Nigerians that the force remains determined to dismantle criminal networks and ensure the safety of lives and property.
