The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has distributed a total of ₦1.703 trillion among the Federal Government, states, and local government councils as revenue generated in January 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by Bawa Mokwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation.
The revenue distribution took place during the FAAC meeting held in Abuja.
According to the statement, the total revenue for January 2025 stood at ₦2.641 trillion, out of which ₦1.703 trillion was allocated to the three tiers of government. The breakdown of the distributed revenue
includes ₦749.727 billion from statutory sources and ₦718.781 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT).
The FAAC meeting, which convened key financial stakeholders, underscored the importance of ensuring equitable distribution of national resources to sustain governance and development across the country.
