The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Honorable Sunday Bisi, has declared that the party is poised to defeat the opposition once again in the 2026 elections, riding on the back of Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke’s stellar performance in office.

Speaking at the annual inter-religious prayer session held in Osogbo on January 6, 2025, Hon. Bisi lauded Governor Adeleke’s administration for its transformative achievements across key sectors, including infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and human capital development.

He noted that the governor’s commitment to the welfare of the people has solidified the PDP’s position as the party of choice in Osun State.

“Governor Adeleke’s performance is incontrovertible. From constructing and rehabilitating roads to providing affordable healthcare in each of the 332 wards, his administration has made us proud. He defeated the opposition in 2022 because they failed the people, and with his track record, I have no doubt he will defeat them again in 2026,” Hon. Bisi stated.

The PDP chairman emphasized the importance of unity, love, and cooperation among party members, urging them to intensify grassroots mobilization ahead of the upcoming local government elections.

“This year promises to be a busy one. We must engage with our people in every nook and cranny of the state, sharing our vision of light over darkness. Let us strengthen our party structures and ensure a resounding victory in the forthcoming elections,” he said.

Hon. Bisi also called on Governor Adeleke to remain focused on his developmental vision, undeterred by distractions from opposition elements.

“As we move forward, I urge His Excellency to continue prioritizing the welfare of our people while ignoring unproductive distractions. Together, we can build a brighter future for Osun State.

The inter-religious prayer session brought together leaders and members of the PDP, religious clerics, and other stakeholders, marking the start of what promises to be a pivotal year for the party in Osun State.
