The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Osun State, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, has received the Golden Leadership Excellence Award and the Most Distinguished Democrat of the Year 2023/2024 from the Yoruba Study Group.
Founded in 2009, the Yoruba Study Group is a coalition of young professionals, politically-conscious youths, and notable elders of Yoruba origin. The group aims to create a platform for coordinating awareness, advocacy, and historical research to improve leadership, open governance, and innovative development of Yoruba land while protecting and projecting Yoruba cultural heritage.
Led by its President, Adeosun Olabanji Williams, the organization presented the award at the office of the Honourable Commissioner. They recognized Rev. Jenyo for his significant contributions to the economic growth of Osun State and nation-building.
Williams stated, “It is on this note that we in the Yoruba Study Group see it as our duty to profoundly appreciate and celebrate our amiable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Samuel Atanda Bunmi Jenyo. He has contributed immensely to the economic growth and development of Osun State and Nigeria with great efficiency, patriotism, and dedication.”
He further praised Rev. Jenyo’s track record in quality service delivery, promoting democracy, quality leadership, and good governance over the years. Williams noted that these attributes have earned Rev. Jenyo a reputable brand name with an unblemished record.
“Rev. Samuel Atanda Bunmi Jenyo has demonstrated rare qualities over the years, towering above his peers. He is intellectually capable, mature, experienced, efficient, resourceful, brave, courageous, patriotic, progressive, cerebral, and well-connected—attributes necessary for outstanding leadership performance,” Williams added.
He also highlighted that Osun State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, appointed Rev. Jenyo to contribute to the state’s development. “We are celebrating this Icon of Excellence for representing an ideal role model. His proficiency, capability, brilliance, dedication, and character are exemplary,” Williams said.
The Commissioner, accompanied by the management staff of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, led by Mr. Tajudeen Adigun, expressed his gratitude to the group. He promised to continue making tireless efforts to advance the course of humanity.
