Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reiterated his administration’s resolve to complete all major ongoing projects across the state, declaring that “those who plotted to derail our government have failed.”

According to his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Governor made this known during a Thursday evening State Executive Council meeting, where he highlighted the progress of his administration’s five-point agenda, asserting that “our team has succeeded where our detractors failed.”“They plotted, but our God plotted for us. They were surprised that we survived the siege they laid on our government and the people of Osun State. They are still in shock that our government is still standing,” Adeleke said, emphasizing that his government relies only on divine guidance and the support of the people.

Adeleke said the state has escaped the siege of underdevelopment and the burdens of infrastructure deficits left by previous administrations, even as he promised that remaining challenges will be addressed with the grace of God and the goodwill of the people.

Meanwhile, the Executive Council also deliberated on several key governance matters.

The council discussed the implementation of the Osun State Electricity Market Law and directed the Commissioner for Energy to raise a proposal for the establishment of a regulatory commission.

It commended ongoing payroll reforms, including the seamless deployment of the World Bank-supported SIFMIS, while reaffirming its rejection of the Sally Tibbot staff audit report.

On education, the council set March 1, 2026, as the resumption date for the first batch of newly recruited teachers, directing the Commissioner for Education to comply fully with the deadline.

Reports from the Commissioner for Finance on revenue and taxation prompted instructions to speed up tax reforms and expand the state’s revenue base.

Regarding traditional council affairs, the Executive Council approved the formation of a five-man committee under the Secretary to the State Government to review alleged encroachment and violations affecting the consenting authorities of the eight leading paramount rulers in Osun, with a view to propose corrective measures.
