The Ogun State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening security operations across the state through enhanced technological support and improved real-time crime detection.
This assurance was given on Wednesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, during the unveiling of the Ogun Amotekun Corps CCTV Control Room at the command headquarters in Abeokuta.

Top security officials, including the Corps Commander, Brig. Gen. Alade Adedigba (rtd.), and the State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, were present at the event.
Mr Talabi commended the leadership of Amotekun for the innovation, describing the new digital surveillance hub as a significant step toward proactive security management.
He said the state was pleased that Amotekun, a relatively young security outfit, was embracing professionalism and forward-thinking strategies that align with the government’s vision for a safer Ogun.
The SSG noted that although only three pilot locations currently have functional CCTV coverage, the government is committed to expanding the project until all parts of the state are fully monitored.
He also emphasized the importance of collaboration among all security agencies, stressing that security challenges cannot be left to one outfit alone.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Amotekun Commander, Brig. Gen. Adedigba (rtd.), said the CCTV control centre would greatly enhance operational efficiency.
According to him, security without technology remains largely reactive:He added that the system will help the corps monitor distant locations more effectively, reduce manual processes, and support its mission of maintaining a safe environment for residents.
