Mr Sunday Olusegun Aragbaiye has been installed as the Chief Aragbaiye of Imoru and the High Chief Apasa of Imoru Kingdom.

The installation ceremony, held at the Olumoru Palace in Imoru, Ondo State, drew traditional rulers, community leaders, and dignitaries who came to witness the honour bestowed on the new chief.

Performing the installation, the Paramount Ruler of Imoru Kingdom, Oba Oluwarotimi Obamuwagun (Uwade I), described Mr Aragbaiye as “a man of integrity, humility, and unquestionable loyalty to the development of Imoru.”

The monarch noted that the new High Chief had demonstrated exceptional commitment to community-building over the years, adding that his calm disposition, leadership qualities, and deep understanding of the customs and traditions of the people made him eminently qualified for the exalted position.

Oba Obamuwagun said the title of Chief Aragbaiye and High Chief Apasa is traditionally reserved for individuals whose character aligns with the values of honour, service, and cultural preservation.

He expressed confidence that Chief Aragbaiye would uphold the responsibilities that come with the office.

In his acceptance speech, Chief Sunday Olusegun Aragbaiye expressed profound gratitude to the monarch and the entire community for the trust reposed in him. He pledged to remain a strong advocate for the progress of Imoru Kingdom.

According to him, “I will continue to promote our traditional institutions, protect our heritage, and uphold the cultural values that define Imoru Kingdom. This is a responsibility I accept with humility, dedication, and the fear of God.”

The ceremony later moved to the Aragbaiye residence, where a colourful reception continued with cultural displays, music, and goodwill messages from family and well-wishers.
