OSUN ADC CHAIRMEN ADOPT AGIRI YEMISI AS DEPUTY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE

The Forum of Local Government Chairmen of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Osun State has unanimously adopted Hon. (Mrs.) Agiri Yemisi Temitope as the party’s Deputy Governorship Candidate for the 2026 governorship election.

The adoption was announced after a closed-door meeting of the ADC chairmen held in Osogbo on Sunday, December 15, 2025, shortly after the party’s primary election that produced Rt. Hon. Najeem Folasayo Salam popularly known as Iwaloye as the ADC governorship candidate for the August 8, 2026 election.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the chairmen from the 30 local government areas of the state said the decision followed extensive consultations and careful deliberations.

They noted that the endorsement of Agiri Yemisi was carried out in strict compliance with the ADC constitution and the coalition agreement between the party’s national and state leadership.

The chairmen expressed confidence in Hon. (Mrs.) Agiri Yemisi Temitope’s capacity to add value to the ADC ticket and strengthen the party’s chances in the forthcoming governorship election.

The forum also briefly acknowledged Engr. Ezekiel Olajide Adeniji, who was unanimously adopted as a leader of the party in Osun State, commending his contributions to party building and coalition efforts within the state.

The ADC chairmen further appreciated the Osun State Chairman of the party, Dr. Charles Omidiji, for his fairness and leadership throughout the process.

The meeting ended with the chairmen expressing optimism and unity ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship election.
