
Former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, has declared his commitment to rescue Osun State from stagnation, poverty, nepotism, and hypocrisy if elected governor in 2026.
Speaking while hosting a delegation of women leaders, special advisers, and assistants drawn from the three senatorial districts of Osun, Omisore emphasized that his over 32 years of experience in active politics have equipped him with the political structure and capacity to tackle the state’s challenges head-on.
The former Deputy Governor stressed that his campaign, tagged “Osun Rescue Mission 2026,” reflects his cultural, political, and intellectual preparedness to deliver good governance and drive development across the state.
“I know the right path to take to move Osun State forward in all areas,” Omisore asserted.
Omisore also promised to prioritize women’s inclusion in government, assuring the over 138 women present representing all local government areas and the Ife area office that they would have an active role in his administration.

Also speaking, Former Commissioner for Education in Osun State Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin Bamisaye, called on women across the state to set aside sentiment and give Omisore their full support.
He urged them to mobilize grassroots efforts to ensure the APC defeats incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2026.
Similarly, The Former SUBEB Chairman in Osun, Honourable Ajibola Famurewa stressed the importance of backing Omisore’s candidacy, noting that his emergence as governor would usher in the kind of development that would turn Osun into the “Mecca of their dreams.”
