The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has honoured an Assistant Route Commander, Babatunde Owoeye, of the Osun State Sector Command, for his exceptional display of integrity after rejecting bribes from traffic offenders 104 times in July 2025.
Owoeye was reported to have similarly turned down bribe offers on 18 occasions in May and 38 occasions in June, bringing his total rejections to 160 within three months.
Speaking during the presentation of the award at the Osun State Command Headquarters, the Sector Commander, Leye Adegboyega, said the gesture reflected the commission’s long-standing commitment to integrity and zero tolerance for corruption.
He noted that the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, has consistently championed transparency and ethical conduct among personnel.
In recognition of his exemplary service, the FRSC management presented Owoeye with a commendation award and a cash prize of ₦250,000.

Adegboyega commended the young officer for distinguishing himself by resisting attempts from traffic violators who sought to induce him into overlooking their offences, describing him as a model of discipline and professionalism for other officers.
