It is recalled that the principal, Mr. Muheeden Popoola, was remanded in Ilesa Prison on July 24, 2025, for trespass following charges filed by Mrs. Adedigba but was released the next day following the intervention of Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup.
Despite intervention efforts of Kabiyesi and some Ijesa community leaders, Mrs. Adedigba mobilized earth , claiming consent from the Osun State Police Commissioner, as informed to the Ijamo DPO, Mr. Gbenga.
This situation has sparked reactions from Ijesa people both locally and internationally.
The Ijesa people’s planned protest against the action this morning was suspended following the intervention of the elders
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the Osun state commissioner of police has denied involvement in the saga, stating that he did not provide consent to Mrs Adedigba’s actions on the disputed land.
However, A group of concerned Ijesa citizens has responded to the recent protest targeted at Pastor (Mrs) Sayo Adedigba, the Chief Executive Officer of Next Level Petroleum.
Speaking through their coordinator, Dr. Aiku Oshungbure, the group described the protest as a calculated move by some prominent individuals to damage Mrs Adedigba’s reputation.
According to them, she is being falsely portrayed as a land grabber by certain media platforms.
They alleged that it is orchestrated on Mrs Adedigba because she decided to support a different candidate during the selection process for the new Owa of Ijesaland.
The group believes that since her preferred candidate did not emerge, she is now being unfairly targeted and victimized.
The group further urged the Osun State Commissioner of Police to carry out a thorough investigation to determine whether Mrs Adedigba legally acquired the land in question insisting that community elders, the Agba Ijesa are aware of the legitimate process through which she obtained the Land.
