The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, has described Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, as a “performing governor,” citing the pace of development in the state since his assumption of office.

The Minister made the remark on Friday evening after a partnership meeting with Governor Adeleke in Osogbo.

The discussion focused on potential collaborations between the federal ministry and the Osun State Government in the areas of arts, culture, tourism, and the creative economy.

“Osun people, you are lucky to have this hardworking leader as your Governor. He is truly a performing governor,” Musawa was quoted as saying after the meeting.

She added that Osun occupies a strategic place in the federal government’s agenda, which includes compiling a national register of tourism spots, tourism promotion through airports, and a planned national unity song led by Nigerian artists including Davido.

Musawa expressed optimism about the evolving collaboration with Osun State, adding that discussions would continue at the forthcoming National Council on Arts and Culture meeting.

In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke welcomed the minister’s commendation and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the creative and cultural sectors.

“We are implementing an ambitious agenda for the art, culture, and creative economy,” Adeleke said, according to Rasheed.

“We have also inked several deals, including one with the British Museum during my recent trip to the UK. It will be our honour to host the national council meeting at an agreed date.”
