
In continuation of his statewide consultative meeting with leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Omooba Dotun Babayemi in his quest for the party’s governorship ticket stormed Obokun and Oriade Local Governments.
The arrival of Babayemi and his entourage which was heralded with fanfare, saw him addressing leaders and some members of the party at Ibokun and Ijebu-jesa as part of preparations towards the 2026 gubernatorial election in the state.
Leaders from the two council areas were unequivocal in their commendations on the step taken by Babayemi which they described as being right for deeming it fit to first meet with party leaders and elders before going ahead with the prosecution of his governorship aspiration in the state.
At Ibokun where he met chieftains and members of the APC, Babayemi said he decided that before going to town on his aspiration to become the candidate of the party,it was expedient for him to first meet them for their advice and blessings.
According to the Gbongan-born Prince,Ijesa land remains the cradle of the progressives, urging that the unity of APC must of paramount concern to every member of the party for it to succeed at the end.










He promised not to deviate from the rules and guidelines of the party, appealing to the people not be discouraged so as to ensure that the party has a clean sweep at the coming election for the benefit of the state and its people.
Speaking separately, Pharmacist Siji Olamiju,Hon. Bosun Oyintiloye and Babanumi, described Babayemi as a true party man whose main pursuit was the party’s victory and commended him for always attending to the welfare of party members across the state.
While praying for his success, they enjoined him not to relent in seeking the good of the party, promising to rally him if the lot of the candidacy falls on him as the party candidate.
Others at the Ibokun meeting include, Alhaji Niran Ashaolu, Bashorun Tayo Omojowogbe, Chairman Oriade LG, Engr Moruf Ogundipe and Women Leader, Mrs Funke Ajani, among others.










Similarly at ijebu-jesa in Oriade Local Gov, Babayemi who reiterated his commitment and loyalty to the ideals of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, asserted that he was with them for consultation on the party’s governorship ticket.
He said concerted efforts must be made by party members and stakeholders to ensure that the state was won by APC at the next year’s gubernatorial election.
Babayemi posited that his movement to ADP and PDP was divinely arranged as thousands he met in those parties, have become part of his political allies and would be added advantage for the APC at the polls.
























Responding, leaders at Oriade Local Government who also showered praises on Babayemi for being the first to consult them among those seeking the party’s governorship ticket for the 2026 election, described the move as commendable.
Among those who spoke include Barrister Rufus Oluwatayo, Chief JFK Ogunkeyede represented by Prince Ademola Adeyeye, ex Woman Leader, Madam Olabanji Idowu,Chief Abiodun Owoeye and the Youth leader.
Others at the colourful occasion include,Hon Gbongan Adewole,party Chairman, Emiola Ogunsanya, Tomilayo Aloba, Bar Ojo Williams and Council Chairman, Hon Oyewole oyebanji.
