
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) and Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals (DPRP) have agreed to strengthen collaboration in a bid to boost Nigeria’s energy security and promote economic growth.
The agreement was highlighted during a courtesy visit by the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, to the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Bashir Bayo Ojulari, at the NNPC Towers in Abuja on Thursday.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd.
During the visit, Dangote emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two institutions, stating that there was no rivalry.
“There is no competition between us. NNPC is part and parcel of our business, and we are also part of NNPC,” he said. “This is an era of cooperation between the two organisations.”
He also congratulated Ojulari and the senior management team on their appointments, acknowledging the enormity of the task before them.
In response, Ojulari expressed appreciation for the visit and reiterated NNPC’s commitment to building a strategic partnership anchored on innovation, mutual respect, and national interest.
He praised the professionalism of the NNPC workforce and said the company would continue to seek commercial opportunities that benefit Nigeria.
Both leaders agreed to act as relationship managers for their respective organizations, with a shared vision of fostering healthy competition and long-term collaboration.
