Insecurity and Senseless Excuse

1. There are selected topics I always avoid discussing because of their sensitivity to relationships.

2. Among these topics are religion beliefs, football teams despite the fact that I like football, ethnicity, selected political topics are also included and cultural beliefs to mention a few. What is normal in Yoruba culture is abomination elsewhere likewise other people’s culture so I avoid it.

3. Inspite the sensitivity of these topics one may be forced at times to join discussions about them when provoked, as it happened this morning. WHAT HAPPENED?

4. A kidnapper was captured somewhere and the kidnapper was not a Fulani man. We were discussing the topic when a Fulani guy said “see this man now he is not a Fulani but they always say it is Fulani that kidnap”. There and then the topic changed.

5. The statement was so annoying and irritating to me and I have to disobey my rule of not discussing some topics. Then I unleashed as stated below 👇

BELOW IS MY RESPONSE AS I ANALYZED BASIC FACTS TO HIM

6. Brother, let’s be honest to our Creator! If you talk about drug peddlers home and abroad today NDLEA must have arrested 100 Igbo men before arresting 10 Yoruba before they can arrest just one Hausa man.

7. I explained further that assuming it is NDLEA in Nigeria that are always arresting igbó men for drugs and allows Hausa to escape, he should now look at the number of Igbo arrested outside Nigeria and languishing in prisons around the world as testimony.

8. He should look at those executed in Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Indonesia including India. Then compare it to how many Hausa or Yorùbá that were executed in those countries in that manner languishing in their prisons.

9. He should also Google the population of Nigerians in jail all over the world and sort then according to ethnic groups. He was listening because he didn’t know where I will end the analysis.

10. I then shifted to Internet fraud. I told him they must have arrested 100 Yoruba boys before arresting 30 Igbo and the probability of arresting one Hausa is slim. The reality being that Yorùbá boys are more prominent in internet fraud than other ethnic group. He felt cozy with the fact I stated. He still didn’t know where I was heading to.

11. Now to his own domain. I explained that when we talk of religion fanaticism in Nigeria, one must have seen killings of over 100 people for unfounded allegations of blasphemy before you see just one case in Igbó land and you can never see such in Yoruba land.

12. It is not likely to see religion madness called blasphemy in Yoruba land because both Babalawo, Alfa and pastors drink beer together here in Yoruba land. There are hundreds of buildings that housed church and mosques together in southwest without rancour, even pastors and Afaa meet at Iledi Ògbóni. No tension.

13. Now I raised the issue of kidnapping. When you talk of kidnapping for ransom you must have arrested 100 Fulani before you arrest 30 Igbo in the east and before you can arrest 10 Yoruba kidnappers. It is not that criminals are not in all ethnic groups but varies in their specific crimes. Igbo drugs major Hausa religion fanaticism Yoruba internet fraud major Fulani kidnapping for ransom majorSo no sensible person will argue this.

14. I told him straight that it is safe to conclude that if 99% of those arrested or neutralized kidnappers for ransom are Fulani then Fulani could be label as kidnappers majorly. Please this is not ethnic labeling but truth.

15. Prominent people found it difficult to dispute this fact and all reasonable northern elites did not deny the fact. Although, they can argue that the Fulani causing the problem are migrants or from Mali or Niger but they know themselves. It is a statement of truth and basic truth.

16. Let’s look at the geopolitical zone where kidnapping, badistry and killings are taking place such as Borno, Samfara and Niger. Can we ask who are the people doing it? Are they Yoruba or Igbo? Please let’s be honest and stop hiding under falsehood.

17. All the bandits leaders neutralized in the last six months and those on wanted lists are Fulani type. I am yet to see Adewumi or Chukwu àmong them.

18. The burden rests on the northern elites, opinion leaders, politicians and commoners to begin sanity from their domain and tell their boys to stop denying the truth. The person who caused this explanation had been silent since then.
