The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to fairness, equity, and national unity in the distribution of appointments, dismissing claims of favoritism making the rounds, particularly on social media.

In a statement issued by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the government refuted allegations of lopsided appointments, stressing that all selections are made in strict compliance with the federal character principle, as stipulated in Section 14 of the 1999 Constitution (as altered).

According to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains firmly guided by the ideals of fairness and justice, ensuring that all regions and demographics are adequately represented in government institutions and agencies.

The statement urged Nigerians to disregard what it described as “unfounded speculations” and to rely solely on official government channels for accurate information.

It further emphasized that the Tinubu administration remains focused on promoting a united, prosperous, and equitable Nigeria, in line with its Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The government remains steadfast in its pursuit of a prosperous, united, and equitable Nigeria. Pokers of embers of hate and disunity who carry tendentious and unfounded allegations should never be taken seriously by Nigerians,” the OSGF noted.
