
In a bid to ease travel for Osun indigenes ahead of the Eid-El-Fitri celebration, Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved the Imole Free Train Ride for residents traveling from Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo States to Osogbo.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Osun State, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, made the announcement in a statement issued to newsmen in Osogbo on Thursday.
Rev. Jenyo who commended Governor Adeleke for sustaining the free train initiative, maintained that the train is fully prepared to transport passengers to Osogbo on Saturday, March 29, 2025, and return them to Lagos on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at no cost.
According to him, the train will depart from Iddo Terminus, Lagos, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 29, 2025, and the return journey from Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, will commence at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
He further stated that the Imole Free Train Ride reflects the Osun State government’s commitment to alleviating the travel burdens of its citizens who wish to celebrate Eid with their loved ones back home.
Rev. Jenyo also encouraged passengers to seize the opportunity to visit Osun State and witness the ongoing infrastructural and developmental strides of Governor Adeleke, in line with his administration’s five-point integral plan.
