President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring inclusive development, promising that no Nigerian will be left behind in the country’s progress.
Speaking at the State House in Abuja on Thursday while receiving a delegation of former National Assembly colleagues from the aborted Third Republic, presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga quoted the President as saying, “We are building a nation where no one is left behind — young or old, rich or poor. Every citizen must feel the impact of governance, and that is our guiding principle.”
The President who acknowledged the economic challenges faced by Nigerians expressed optimism that the country is on the right track.
“We inherited a difficult economy, but we refused to make excuses. Instead, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work. Today, the economy is stabilizing. Inflation is slowing, and more jobs are being created. It’s not an overnight fix, but progress is undeniable,” Tinubu said.
He further highlighted his administration’s efforts to empower young Nigerians, referencing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) as key initiatives to support education and entrepreneurship.
“Our youth are the heartbeat of this nation. We’ve expanded access to education through NELFUND, and we’re providing credit access through CREDICORP so that young people can pursue their dreams without being trapped by financial barriers. Whether it’s education, entrepreneurship, or innovation — we are backing you.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Senator Emmanuel Chiedoziem Nwaka praised the Tinubu administration’s efforts, particularly the education and credit schemes, which he described as vital to empowering Nigeria’s youth.
“I appreciate you for what you are giving to students because the student population is the largest demographic in the country. I’ve spoken with many of them, and they’ve benefited from it. And the next one is the CREDICORP — that’s a major way of fighting corruption. Young people now have access to credit for cars, homes, and other needs without resorting to desperate means. We are delighted,” Nwaka stated.
Other members of the delegation included Senator Bako Aufara Musa, Hon. Terwase Orbunde, Hon. Wasiu Logun, Hon. Amina Aliyu, High Chief Obi Anoliefo, and Hon. Eze Nwauwa.
