The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed the death of former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, who was found lifeless in a hotel room in Abuja.

In a statement issued by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, the police debunked rumors that Parradang was kidnapped and murdered, clarifying that he was discovered dead at Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, hours after lodging with a female guest.

According to the statement, Parradang arrived at the hotel at 12 p.m. on March 3, 2025, driving a black Mercedes Benz. He checked in, paying ₦22,000 for a one-night stay, and later instructed the hotel staff to escort a female guest to his room.

The woman reportedly left the hotel premises around 4 p.m.

However, Parradang did not come out of his room afterward. Concerned for his well-being, a military officer friend traced him to the hotel at 4 a.m. on March 4, 2025.

Upon arrival, the officer and hotel receptionist proceeded to his room, where they found him seated in a chair, unresponsive.

The Durumi Police Station was immediately notified, and officers arrived at the scene to secure the area, take photographs, and collect evidence.

His body was later transferred to the National Hospital for necessary procedures.

Addressing speculations, the police dismissed claims of kidnapping and assassination, urging the public to avoid spreading unverified information.

“We urge the public and media outlets to refrain from spreading unverified information, including claims of kidnapping, that may incite fear or panic,” Adeh stated.

The FCT Police Command has assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of death.
