Protest Planners Must Remember Newton’s Third Law of Motion ……… By Wale Alonge

Peaceful protests are a part of parcel of democracy. However, there is no place for wanton violence, looting and destruction of critical national infrastructure. The organizers of the August 1st Day of Rage and Revolution are courting trouble for the ethnic and partisan political coloration of their dastardly agenda. During the last presidential election which their side lost, they premised to make Nigeria ungovernable and they are now preparing to do exactly that. They are planning to unleash violence and mayhem on Nigeria and in particular the Southwest Homebase of the president.

The organizers of the proposed project and day of rage are circulating a long list of their grievances against President Tinubu and his just over a year government. Their list iof grievances some dating to the foundation of this republic is incomplete. They forgot to include the following items

  1. Global warming
  2. Russian war of aggression in Ukraine
  3. Biden dropping out of the U.S. presidential contest
  4. Covid 19 global pandemic
  5. Brexit
  6. And of course, Tinubu should be held responsible for the mother and root cause of our National morass, the amalgamation of Nigeria by Lord Luggard in 1914.

Anyone is free to protest whatever grievances they choose, including their wives who refuse to prepare dinner for their husbands, so long as Igbo and their Obidients go back to their villages and hamlets to protest the IPOB crowds who are maiming and decapitating security personnel and innocent citizens in the southeast. There will be hell to pay if they repeated what they did to Lagos during the Endsars riots when they hijacked a protest to raze billions upon billions of Naira of Lagos transportation and other critical infrastructure to the ground and looted private and public properties. They have called for days of rage that would make the recent Kenyan protest, looting and killings a child play. They must however, remember Newton’s third Law of motion “ for every action (force), there is an equal and opposite reaction”. He who sows the wind must be prepared yo harvest the whirlwind.

All the gullible Yorubas who are getting sucked in to this madness need to take caution. Social media and the internet have a very long memory. We must not join the enemy in burning down our father’s house
