The National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) has appointed Farooq Oreagba, Managing Director and CEO of NG Clearing, as an Honorary Ambassador following his dazzling appearance at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival.
NCAC Director General, Obi Asika, announced the honor on Instagram, sharing a Certificate of Recognition awarded to Oreagba.
Asika lauded Oreagba’s energy, spirit, and dedication to promoting Nigerian culture, calling him “a true Nigerian original.”
He wrote, “I could not be happier to announce him as an Hon Ambassador for the National Council for Arts and Culture #ncac_nigeria and celebrate him and his boundless energy and spirit.”
Oreagba, now dubbed the “King of Steeze,” has brought global attention to the Ojude Oba Festival, a key traditional celebration in Ijebu Ode honoring the Awujale.
For over a decade, Oreagba has been a standout participant, riding his horse and donning magnificent aso oke to represent his family and culture.
The 2024 Ojude Oba Festival, held in June, showcased its signature blend of grandeur, cultural significance, and glamour.
This year’s edition paid tribute to Oba Sikiru Adetona, the revered king of Ijebu-Ode, and celebrated the rich heritage of the Ijebu people, drawing prominent figures from across the globe.
