37-man Tripartite Committee on Minimum Wage Inaugurated In Abuja

The 37-man Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage are charged with a mandate to recommend a new National Minimum Wage for the Country.

Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima gave the charge to them when they were inaugurated.

The vice president had presided over the brief ceremony of the inauguration of the committee members at the council chambers, presidential villa in Abuja.

Shettima urged them to propose a new national minimum wage for Nigerian workers.

Members of the committee are also to do so considering that collective bargaining should be in good faith and in adherence to the contract terms.

While advising the committee members to do consultations outside the committee, Shettima insisted that resolutions and submission of their reports should be done promptly.
